Covid 19- Letters, Advice & Remote Learning

The Government  announced the closure of schools to all pupils except those listed in their exceptions.

As advised by the government, we will do all we can to stay open for the children of key workers (e.g. NHS staff, police, others in frontline services) and children with certain needs.

From 15th June, we will be starting a phased return to school for some year groups. See Files to Download for current Risk Assessment. Updated 3rd July.

Below is a 'Nip it in the Bud' video to help support children with a return to school. There is also a document in Files to Download.

We are commited to safeguarding all our pupils, whilst at home or at school. Hollinhey's Addendum to our Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy is available in Files to Download. If you have any concerns at all , please contact Mrs Clough via email on

What we’ll continue doing while your child is at home

Your child’s learning is of course important to us, so we’ll continue to help your child to learn.

  • Daily reading

  • Daily practise of spellings (year group words will be on the class page of the website and through Spelling Shed)

  • Daily practise of times tables and number bonds (including TT Rock stars if age appropriate)

  • Daily Maths activity – this will be posted on the class page of the website.

  • Daily English activity – this will be a mixture of reading comprehension, spelling, grammar and punctuation work and writing tasks and will be posted on the class page of the website.

For these activities your child should write the answers in their exercise book provided by school and the mark schemes will be uploaded the following day (along with that day’s tasks) for the child or an adult to mark.

  • Theme work – children are to choose a project from this half term’s homework list. Anyone who has already completed their homework please choose another project to do. This work needs to be brought into school when we re-open.

Mrs Storer will also post some French Activities on her page: click here

A list of live lessons can be accessed here.

Mr Curtin from Love Music Trust has also sent some links for all classes to use here
