Friends of Hollinhey (Parent Teachers Association)
Hello and welcome to Friends of Hollinhey (PTA for Hollinhey Primary School)
Who are Friends of Hollinhey (FOH) and what do we do?
Friends of Hollinhey are a very active PTA and we play a vital part in the life of our school. We provide opportunities for children and families to come together through the many events we run across the year. All parents and teachers are automatically members however the day to day running of the PTA is in the hands of a committee, which are elected at the AGM each year. Your committee members for the academic year 2024 / 2025 are:
Chair - Gayle Parks
Co-secretaries - Karina Bolam and Faye Mukadam
Treasurer - Louise McGonigal
How we raise money
As a registered charity, the main role of FOH is to raise additional funds for the school to further enhance our children’s learning experience. As in most schools, the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. Please see the up-coming events calendar in the Hollinhey newsletter for upcoming fundraising and social events.
How you can help
There are lots of events held during the year, some for children, some for parents and some for the whole family. Please come along and help raise funds for the school.
There are always lots of things to do in the PTA – whether it’s grabbing books to wrap at Christmas, selling treats at the school disco or manning the tombola at the May Fayre! Your help is invaluable and we encourage you to get in touch if you can spare some time to help out. Email us at: friendsofhollinhey@yahoo.co.uk if you would like to get involved.
Other ways you can help
Asda Rewards Cashpot for Schools - Between 2nd September and 30th November 2024 – every time you shop with Asda using your Asda Rewards app, Asda will donate 0.5% of the value of your shop to your chosen Primary school. Also, every time somebody opts-in to support our Primary school, Asda will give an additional £1 to the school Cashpot. Please choose Hollinhey as your chosen charity.
Easyfundraising - Big retailers like Tesco, Amazon, M&S, Booking.com, eBay, Argos, John Lewis, Baker Ross, Clarks and 8000 others want to give back to schools. Thats why they have partnered with easyfundraising, so when someone shops online with them, the retailer gives back a percentage of what that online shopper spends to your PTA; for free. Its like using a cashback site, but instead of the money going to one individidual, as a collective - parents, committee members, staff and friends of your school can all raise money together. Please choose Hollinhey as your chosen charity.
Matchfunding - If you work for an organisation that has a match funding policy, any money you raise could be matched by your employer. Companies may match the fundraising total for an event, or for the stall that their employee is working on. We are lucky enough to have a few parents at Hollinhey that help with our fundraising in this capacity and it makes a real difference to our overall totals. We would be grateful if you could see if your employer has a match funding scheme, or if they are willing to match fund any of our events. If you can’t help out this time, but you know the company you work for has a match funding policy, please let us know. This could be a really large source of income for the PTA and help us raise money for Friends of Hollinhey.
Friends Thursday- Visit the Sutton Village Cafe on a Thursday! Alan & Lisa are supporting their local school by donating 10% of takings from the cafe every Thursday in term time.
